Spreading the Cheer on the Streets of Chicago...

Three Scales at Pride 08Since the start of the year, the Chicago Spirit Brigade has grown to include Dance and Drill teams in addition to our squad of new and veteran Cheerleaders. After months of practice, with warm days now upon us, CSB is ready to hit the summertime streets of Chicago!

Our brand new 2009 routine will premier at Andersonville's MidSommarFest with two performances on June 13 & 14. We take to the Center Stage on Saturday at Noon. Sunday finds us on the North Stage at 1:30. We promise a rousing performance, so please join us as we Spread the Cheer to raise money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

That same weekend on Saturday at 3:00pm, we'll be cheering on the Chicago Force in their grudge match against the Detroit Demolition! Come cheer Chicago on to victory and stay for our Half Time Performance. Every dollar we raise this entire weekend goes to Susan G. Komen for the Cure and their fight against breast cancer.

We hit the streets again for Pride Weekend with a full-out performance at Pride Fest on June 27 at 2:00pm on the South Stage. On Sunday, bigger and better than ever before, our entire Cheer, Dance and Drill teams will be marching in the Chicago 40th Annual Pride Parade.

So come out for a fun-filled, jam-packed Pride Weekend as we raise funds for AIDS Run & Walk Chicago!

Show Your Pride... March with the Chicago Spirit Brigade as a Volunteer!

This year, get an insider's view of the Chicago Pride Parade by participating in our contingent as a volunteer! We need friends and supporters to march with us along the parade route... carrying our banner and signs, collecting donations for AIDS Run & Walk Chicago, serving as safety monitors, passing out fliers, and more. It's a great way to enjoy the day, support CSB and help to make better lives for those living with HIV/AIDS.  For more information, contact Ken Jennison at krjennison@msn.com or call him at 312.714.4739.

Oh... and you'll get a really great CSB t-shirt!
It's all about Spreading the Cheer... Raising money for our June beneficiaries!

AIDS RunWalk Logo

AIDS Run & Walk Chicago is the premier fundraising event of the AIDS Foundation of Chicago, raising more than $2 million dollars since its establishment in 2001. With your support, the AIDS Foundation can continue as a local and national leader in the fight against HIV/AIDS and to support more than 150 Chicagoland HIV/AIDS service organizations whose works are so invaluable to the cause.

So please join us at any (or all!) of our June events as we Spread the Cheer to help these great organizations!

Introducing... The Chicago Spirit Brigade Drill Team!

Drill TeamThe Chicago Spirit Brigade Drill Team will make its debut in June at MidSommarFest!

Ren, on the far left, found his passion for Pep Flags on the West Coast. Moving to Chicago just last year, he brought this LA phenom here to the Windy City - finding a home with the Chicago Spirit Brigade.

He was quickly joined by Teo, pictured here in the center. A veteran CSB cheerleader since 2003, Teo was looking for a new skill to learn, one that would allow him to keep his commitment to our fundraising mission. And from the first time he saw Ren's high-energy demonstration in January, he was hooked on Pep Flags!

Brian, here on the right, discovered Pep Flags while visiting Ren in California. Like Teo, he too was immediately captivated, and he returned home to Chicago with flags in his suitcase! But it wasn't until the formation of our Drill Team this year that Brian could unveil his skills to the public.

Together they're an awesome team, with precision choreography and flags that twirl, flap and fly high through the air. It's a fun and inspiring performance... So be sure to look for them at all of our upcoming June events!
