Big
Bang Seven... T Minus 5 and Counting!
There are only 5
days left until the curtains rise on the season's hottest event...
Big Bang, the Chicago Spirit Brigade's annual
cabaret-style fundraiser, kicks off at Circuit Nightclub this Saturday
with an 8:00pm Meet & Greet Reception. Enjoy a complimentary
cocktail, courtesy of Circuit, before the 9:00 Show. Then join your
fellow guests and CSB's dancers, twirlers and cheerleaders for lots of
after-party dancing under Circuit's state-of-the-art light and sound
system!
With more
cheerleaders, dancers and drill team members than ever
before (like cheer-star Michael M.
pictured here in Big Bang Six), the
45-member Chicago Spirit Brigade now boasts an amazing diversity of
talent. This year's Big Bang promises to be the best show
yet... with plenty of hot dance numbers, a bit of kitsch, some
drag (of course!), great vocal performances and, we promise,
even a flash of skin (PG-13! Nothing too risqué).
HURRY!
Advance tickets are available for $20 online only until 8:00pm Friday,
Jan 22 at ChicagoSpiritBrigade.org.
Tickets at the door are $25. Both include a
complimentary drink.

Did you Know??
...CSB & Big Bang FAQ's!

Q:
Is the Chicago Spirit Brigade the only group of its kind?
A:
No... and yes! CSB and similar
community-based groups around the
country are members of the Pride Cheerleading Association.
Other squads include Cheer NY, Cheer LA Cheer San Francisco and San
Diego Cheer Elite. What makes CSB unique is that where the others are
strictly cheerleading based, the Chicago Spirit
Brigade is now comprised of Dance, Drill and Cheer squads!
Q:
When and where was the first Big Bang held?
A:
The first Big Bang was held in January 2005 at Hydrate. Within 3 years,
the event had outgrown the stage capacity of Hydrate and Big Bang moved
to Circuit Nightclub in January 2008.
Q:
What does it take to become a member of the Chicago Spirit Brigade?
A:
First, one must be willing to dedicate at least one year to
fulfilling the group's fundraising mission. More important than
previous dance, drill or cheer experience, CSB seeks members who can
put on a smile, talk with people, and request donations for the
designated beneficiary - including Chicago-based non-profit groups like
TPAN and Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Members must be 21 years
of age or older (there's no upper limit! We have a couple
cheerleaders nearing 50!) and willing to commit their time -
our performers give up nearly every Sunday for 4 hours of practice and
numerous weekends from May to October, when we average 15 to 20
performances. Tryouts are held in the fall, but anyone interested in
becoming a performing or auxiliary member can contact CSB anytime
throughout the year at ChicagoSpiritBrigade.org.
